David Beckham

David is a Building-Integrated PhotoVoltaic (BIPV) specialist and Soft White 60 Associate specializing in design and engineering of photovoltaic (PV) solutions for commercial building envelopes.

Mr. Beckham started his career in the industrial mineral sector in the 1980's, which ultimately resulted in an engagement with Dow Corning in their Silicon Energy Unit. He spent 10 years between 1995 and 2005 in the manufacturing sector, during which time he was engaged as a Division Manager for the Knelson Group, an international process equipment and systems engineering company, on whose behalf he designed, engineered, and commissioned process equipment for the ready-mix and cement industries. In 2006, Mr. Beckham left Knelson to start Solarity Industries through which he entered the North American PV solar energy industry. Over the past decade, David has focused upon BIPV for the commercial construction market. He has functioned as an architectural design consultant to the commercial curtain wall industry, and has been involved in numerous BIPV projects throughout North America.

How do we do it?

Soft White 60 has developed proprietary methodologies for all of its key processes. When you see any correspondence from us, whether it’s an e-mail, letter, Expression of Interest, Proposal, Report, or even a business card, you’ll recognize it right away, and you’ll quickly come to recognize the consistency that’s embedded in everything that we do.

In addition to developing a familiarity with us, what we’re really trying to do is build a sense of family and comfort between our organization and our clients. Our objective is to be viewed by organizations like yours as a TRUSTED PARTNER. In fact, we won’t even think of considering ourselves successful until we do just that.

At Soft White 60, we get it. We realize that just because we did something one way, in one country, at one point in time, that doesn’t mean that we can do something else the same way, in another country, at a different point it time. what's with the name?

Soft White 60 is a name that most people know, without realizing that they actually know it. It’s a household name with a pedigree akin to “1,500 thread count”, “double-ply”, or “dark roast”, insofar as being a descriptor of an everyday product that has never been branded – UNTIL NOW.

The name Soft White 60 pays tribute to one of the world’s most popular categories of light bulb – Soft White, 60 Watts.

This legendary bulb, which began its life as an incandescent and whose yellow hue has recently been replicated by more energy efficient versions, remains the benchmark for lighting homes and offices around the world. Soft White 60 is still referenced in new Compact Florescent and LED literature and packaging as a comparator against which new bulbs and their Wattages are measured. As such, Soft White 60 will remain a household name in the annals of electric lighting, and in the same vein, it is our dream that Soft White 60 will become just as popular a name in the realm of International Energy Services Consulting.
